Round boinged off a friendly square

Round asked ‘why so many sides?’

Square said ‘nothing here to hide’

Round, confused, it turned away

Square, it smiled and had to say

As well as round and pointy square

There’s oval, oblong, if you care?

Square is solid, safe and sound

Oblong stands firm on the ground

Round can bounce up to the sky

Oval blinks just like an eye

We’re different shapes, but all alike

Balls and boxes both make bikes

Joined up bits of you and me
